Across the Levels Team Challenge Sponsored by Waxhaw Tack Exchange

Teams consist of three or four riders of any age/division competing in any three or four consecutive levels (i.e. one rider each at Preliminary, Training, Novice, and BegNovice).  The best three consecutive scores will be used to determine final team standings.  If a team has only three members, they must ride in consecutive levels.  Riders will continue to earn individual awards and USEA points in their respective divisions.  Please remember to write your team name on your entry form--team captains should also email the secretary a list of riders/levels competing on their team.  If you wish to ride on a team, but do not have enough riders to form one, please email the secretary (we will keep a list of interested riders to help make teams).  There is no additional fee to compete as a team.  Prizes will be awarded to all members of the top three teams.  Thank you to Donna and Waxhaw Tack Exchange for supporting this class!

NCDCTA Eventing Championships in conjunction with the Fall Horse Trials

NCDCTA is offering special prizes for the highest placing members in all divisions (BN-P) regardless of overall placing. Both horse and rider must be registered members in good standing to be eligible for Championship prizes.

The Ark would like to Welcome EventEntries!

Horse Trials at the Ark can now be entered On-Line through EventEntries.com!  While you must still send a check with your signature page and coggins, you can now pre-select your preferred division (Open, Junior, or Horse).  We hope you will take advantage of EventEntries' FREE service when entering (please remember that entries are not complete and accepted until all financial obligations are met and signatures received)!

The Ark would like to welcome John Williams as our

Cross Country and Show Jumping Course designer!

All 5 levels have been completely re-tracked for the 2008 show season...with Preliminary and Training courses seeing the most substantial changes with the addition of 28 acres across the road.  Novice will have a second water obstacle, and will no longer share any fences with BegNovice.  While the top four levels will be true to size and complexity, the Maiden course will continue to be a good introductory course for a first horse trials (with optional water crossing and small 1/2 ditch on course).  Click here to see the new maps!

Prize Packages for Fall HT at the Ark

We would like to thank wonderful vendors for their generous donation of prizes for the Fall HT at the Ark (Especially Bit of Britain who have outdone themselves)!  In addition to dressage and event ribbons through 8th place, all first, second, and third place riders will win a special NCDCTA/Ark gift.  We will also be giving other special awards:

Preparations are underway for the 5th Fall Horse Trials at the Ark!

We are pleased to welcome the officials who will be presiding over this event:  DC McBroom (VA) as the Technical Delegate, Sue Smithson (NC) as the President of the Ground Jury, and Nancy Pope (SC) as our dressage judge.  Each of these individuals comes highly recommended from their respected peers.

We would also like to welcome HoofClix Photography, as they return as the official event photographers, and Farmhouse Tack.  Please show Mark and his crew your support!

The Organizing Committee hopes that you will make the NCDCTA Eventing Championships at the Ark your fall competition destination!

Thank you for your support!

Do you want to come to the Fall Horse Trials at the Ark?

Spectators are always welcome at Why Not An American Ark!  Bring your favorite chair or simply sit back and enjoy the comfort of our large covered porch (there's even a swing).  And why stop at just watching when you can join the action as a VOLUNTEER!  No experience is necessary to help at one of our events--we are always grateful for jump judges, stewards, and jump crew.  As a special "Thank You" for your time, each full day volunteer will receive a $25 voucher to use toward ANY Ark event or trail ride.  Groups are encouraged to volunteer together and pool their vouchers to use toward a special day at the Ark.

Please email for more information about volunteer opportunities at the Ark.
