Soi Nguyen Avenges Ninth Place WSOP Finish with FTOPS Win

without comments

November Niner Soi Nguyen, who finished ninth place at the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event, won his first major online tournament at the 18th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). Hosting his first Full Tilt Poker Review FTOPS event, Nguyen bested the $207 Rush No Limit Hold’em Super Turbo tournament to amassed $78,503 and an FTOPS jersey.

The Vietnam-born Nguyen was a self-proclaimed proletarian going into the WSOP Main Event final table, telling the media that he didn’t even know what implied odds were.

Regardless if he’s learned the Full Tilt Referral Code terminology or not, the 37 year old has now made a name for him in the online arena on top of the live circuit. He joins Greg “FBT” Mueller along with Erick Lindgren as the only Full Tilt Pros to win an FTOPS event that they hosted, an achievement that still seems unlikely to this poker enthusiast and player. He is the seventh Full Tilt pro overall to nab an FTOPS event; the most recent was Brandon Adams in FTOPS XVII.
